Cactara ("the app", "we", "us") is a habit tracker, budget planner and daily planner, with optional smoking-reduction tracking. Cactara was previously called Pace; only the name has changed, and this policy covers both. It explains what information is involved when you use Cactara, and what is — and is not — collected. Cactara is local-first: the information you enter stays on your device. We do not run a server that stores your personal data, and there is no account or sign-up.
Everything you create in Cactara is saved in your device's local storage and is never transmitted to us or anyone else. This includes:
Photos you attach (a profile picture or a photo on a check-in note) are picked from your device and stored inside the app; they are not uploaded anywhere. This data remains on your device until you delete it in the app, clear the app's storage, or uninstall Cactara — at which point it is gone. Because it never leaves your device, we cannot access, recover, or delete it for you.
If you choose to export your money history (CSV), Cactara creates the file on your device and opens your phone's share sheet. Where that file goes is your choice; we never receive a copy.
Cactara uses the services below to do specific jobs. We do not receive your personal data from them.

Cactara can fill in some habits for you from Health Connect. This is entirely opt-in: nothing is read until you turn it on for a habit and grant permission. Cactara requests read-only access to:
Steps — to complete your Walking habitExercise (exercise sessions) — to complete your Exercise habitHydration — to fill your Water habitCactara's use of information received from Health Connect adheres to the Health Connect Permissions policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
You can optionally protect the Finance area of Cactara with your device's fingerprint or face unlock. This check is performed entirely by your device's operating system — Cactara only receives a "success" or "failure" result and never sees or stores your fingerprint, face, or any other biometric data.
If you enable reminders, Cactara schedules notifications locally on your device. Home-screen widgets read the same on-device data. Neither is sent through any server we operate.
If you use a Cactara companion app on a paired Wear OS watch, today's habit data is sent directly from your phone to your watch through Google's Wearable Data Layer. It does not pass through any server we operate.
Cactara does not include any analytics or user-tracking service of our own. Google Play may collect standard diagnostic and crash information at the platform level; this is governed by Google's policies and your device settings.
Cactara is intended for adults managing their own habits and money, and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Cactara has no account and no server, so there is no profile for us to delete — you control your data directly:
We retain none of your personal data, because we never receive it. The only exception is a suggestion you choose to send us, which we keep until you ask us to delete it. Your app data persists on your device until you remove it. Data held by the third-party services above is retained under their policies.
We may update this policy as the app changes. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the current version. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
